Looking to emulate the Blue Oval’s co-branding and niche pickup successes, General Motors is weighing the creation of Ford F-150 Harley Davidson- and SVT Raptor-rivaling Chevrolet Silverado models.
"Ford does a lot with co-branding," Chris Hilts, manager of creative design for GM's full-size pickup truck interiors, told Edmunds. "I can't comment on anything going forward, but I will say our leadership is very aware of not only the (Ford) Harley-Davidson pickup, but also the Raptor. There are a lot of halo vehicles at Ford. They do sell well and they do set a tone for the vehicle. We definitely are looking into that."
GM has already introduced its first specialty version of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado – the High Country, a leather-lined, feature-packed high-end trim level that competes with the popular F-150 King Ranch.
Hilts didn’t confirm what will be coming next, although he did make it clear that no future Silverado models be priced above the upcoming 2014 GMC Sierra Denali.
