Fiat announces 500, 500c Gucci Editions

Fiat is reintroducing its popular its Gucci Edition 500 and 500c to the United States market this summer, but only for a limited time.

After flying out of dealer showrooms last year, Fiat is once again rolling out a top-spec Gucci Edition of its 500 and 500c for the 2013 model year. The range-topping model will arrive at dealerships later this month.

"It doesn't get better than this: two brands like Gucci and Fiat collaborating on an encore of the fastest-selling Fiat 500 that we ever had in our U.S. portfolio," said Jason Stoicevich, Head of Fiat Brand North America - Chrysler Group LLC. "The success of the Fiat 500 by Gucci demonstrates that there is a clientele in America that appreciates and demands high-quality small cars loaded with the craftsmanship, technology and the style that only the Italians can offer.”

The Fiat 500 and 500c Gucci Edition models will be available in either Gucci Nero (black) or Gucci Bianco (white). In order to set the limited edition cars apart from the standard models, the Gucci Edition will feature the brand's signature Verde/Rosso/Verde down the side of the body work (or the cloth roof in the case of the 500c).

The Gucci Edition 500 will carry a base MSRP of $23,750, while the 500c version will list from $27,750. Neither price includes a mandatory $800 destination charge.
