VŪHL teases "premium track-day" car

Upstart automaker VŪHL (pronounced 'vool' )is taking aim at vehicles like the KTM X-Bow and Ariel Atom with a new “premium track-day” car of its own. VŪHL's road-legal supercar, called the 05, will make its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.

VŪHL isn't ready to discuss the specifics of the 05 just yet, but announced on Monday that the car will come fitted with Michelin tires.  VŪHL says “an international who’s who of the performance car industry," including Magna Steyr, Multimatic and Ford, have also helped with the 05's development.

VŪHL – which stands for 'Vehicles of Ultra High-performance and Lightweight' – plans to build the body for the 05 in Canada, with chassis production set to be handled by Adman Leku in Mexico City.

Not much else about VŪHL is known, but the company was founded by brothers Iker and Guillermo Echeverria and is propped by private investors and the Mexican government.

“We intend VŪHL products to be renowned for their effective simplicity and aesthetics guided by a purity of function,” said Iker Echeverria. “The 05 and its successors will also be notable for uncompromising build quality, rigorous attention to detail and a driving experience par excellence.”

Look for more information on the VŪHL 05 to surface in the coming weeks.
