Last of the breed: Pagani Zonda Revolution

Last of the breed: Pagani Zonda Revolution

Pagani is sending off its Zonda supercar with one last special edition model. Called the Pagani Zonda Revolucion, the last of the Zondas will be limited to a production run of just five units.

Thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber and titanium, the Pagani Zonda Revolution tips the scales at just 2,360 pounds, or about 850 pounds lighter than a Chevrolet Corvette. The Revolution uses a 800 horsepower, 550 lb-ft of torque 6.0L V12 to push around that feather-light chassis, which should translate into some blistering performance.

In order to cope with that added power and lighter body work, the Zonda Revolution uses a fast-shifting six-speed sequential gearbox and a Formula One-inspired aero package to keep the car glued to the tarmac. The Revolution also boasts upgraded brakes and suspension.

All that performances adds up to a sticker price of about $2.8 million. Despite commanding more than a Bugatti Veyron, we doubt Pagani will have much trouble selling all five scheduled units of the Revolution.
